I have posted this comments in the web news entitled, Deadline nears for Pacquiao-Mayweather blood feud – Inform – Mozilla, dated 1st January 2009.
I have two important concerns on Pacquiao-Mayweather encounter:
1. I appreciate Mayweather, Jr. of invoking drug testing within 30 days before the fight. In the first place, the Nevada Commission has no clear cut policy on drug testing. The Mayweather camp has no right to spoon feed the drug testing policy of the Olympic body to the Nevada commission because it needs more policy debate by the latter and have no mandate to accommodate the Mayweather's demand. On the other hand, I agree on the proposal of Manny to have drug testing right after the fight to determine drug use. What I understand on Mayweather's camp is, they are playing tactical and psychological warfare, character assassination and trial by publicity against Manny, a hero and model of all the people in his own country. The Mayweathers' camp are trying their best to weaken Manny's emotional strength, because Manny is Physically and emotionally strong. But I am very confident that it will not be a success on the part of the Mayweathers' camp because Manny is strongly supported by the Filipino people. It is very favorable that Manny shall continue suing the Mayweathers' camp for their un-professionalism and un-discipline. They should pay for their ignorance!. I AM STRONGLY RECOMMENDING TO THE NEVADA COMMISSION THAT THE DRUG TESTING SHALL BE DONE RIGHT AFTER THE FIGHT!
2. My second point is about their weights. Mayweather, Jr., during his last fight against Marquez did not meet the weight limit and simply pay the penalty as part of the agreement which is more heavier than Marquez. I would like to emphasize that Mayweather, Jr. will not play fairly and cowardly gain advantage against his opponent. I AM STRONGLY RECOMMENDING TO THE CAMP OF MANNY AND TO THE NEVADA COMMISSION, THAT, IF MAYWEATHER, JR. CAN NOT MEET THE WEIGHT LIMIT, THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
A. MAYWEATHER, JR. IS ONLY ALLOWED AN EXCESS OF A QUARTER OF A POUND TO FIGHT MANNY FOR FAIR AND SQUARE AND SAFETY PURPOSES. OTHERWISE, THE FIGHT WILL BE RE-SCHEDULED IN FEW DAYS TIME TO MEET THE WEIGHT LIMIT AND FINALLY, IF THE WEIGHT LIMIT CAN NOT BE MET, THE FIGHT WILL BE POSTPONED INDEFINITELY;
B. PENALTY WILL BE IMPOSED IN EXCESS OF THE WEIGHT LIMIT AND NON-COMPLIANCE OF THE SCHEDULED FIGHT;
C. IN EXCESS OF THE WEIGHT LIMIT, THE FIGHT WILL BECOME A NON-TITLE BOUT.
